Dr. Tabea Scheel
Dr. Tabea Scheel is the appointed researcher of the German Institute for Humour. She helps out by answering the big questions regarding humour research.
Tabea is a psychologist, specialising in work and organisational psychology. She is mainly interested in the repercussions of different humour styles in everyday life. For her project “Humour heals”, young people in Saxon schools discussed the effects of humour. She also analyses the humour of tax advisors, physicians and any other professional groups she can get her hands on. After working in Leipzig and Vienna, Tabea now researches intercultural humour differences at Humboldt Universität Berlin. When she’s not doing research, she also coaches people – always in relation to the beneficial uses of humour, of course.
